Yes, Claspgarten clasps are plated with precious metals such as 23K gold, platinum, and others, and are hypoallergenic. We do not use any nickel in the production process, and the lead content in our base materials is below 400ppm. However, in rare cases, some individuals may have sensitivities to precious metals like gold or platinum.
Plating durability depends on several factors including how often the piece is worn, the amount of friction it encounters, and the wearer’s individual skin chemistry. Other contributing factors include:
-Exposure to sweat (especially if acidic or alkaline)
-Contact with lotions, perfumes, or creams
-Wearing during sports, swimming, or showering
-Cleaning with harsh chemicals
To prolong the life of your clasp, we recommend cleaning only with a gentle soap solution and avoiding direct exposure to perfumes, sweat, and cosmetics.
It’s best to avoid wearing your clasps in the shower, while swimming, or during intense physical activity. Moisture, sweat, and friction can shorten the lifespan of the plating.
To keep your clasp looking its best:
Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, and creams
Store jewelry in a dry place when not in use
Gently clean with a mild soap and water solution
Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals
Yes! We accept special orders for items not currently in stock or listed on the site. These require a minimum order quantity (MOQ) of 50 units per item and typically take about 6 weeks to manufacture and ship.
